Personal Whole Health is the best way to summarize my philosophy and approach to patient care. Personal Whole Health is personal, as every person’s path toward health and wellness is different. As your guide and physician, I will seek to accompany you on this path by partnering with you to create personalized care plans and health goals tailored to meet your specific health needs. Personal Whole Health is holistic and about all of you, not just your medical history or medication list. I strive through this model to treat each patient as a whole person with complex needs in all areas of life including mind, body and spirit. Moving beyond simply diagnosing and treating symptoms of disease, Personal Whole Health is about your health in the broadest sense. The emphasis is on prevention through the creation of a positive mental outlook, lifestyle changes and the use of both conventional and alternative therapies.
All of my professional and personal experiences have made me realize that medicine is both an art and a science. In addition to providing the most effective evidence based medicine, I believe the therapeutic relationship between the patient and the physician is equally important. It is a privilege for me to learn about you and your health. It is my belief that “an ounce of prevention is worth much more than a pound of cure.” Therefore, I strive to empower my patients to make positive changes in their life to prevent disease through healthy habits. Having special expertise in Nutrition, I advocate for the use of Food as Medicine and teach my patients how to buy and prepare healthy meals as a standard part of treating their medical conditions. I am board certified in both Family Medicine and Integrative Holistic Medicine. Based on my expertise in these areas, I will gladly consult with you on all of your therapeutic options including pharmacological medications as well as lifestyle changes that include mind-body therapies, food prescriptions and tailored exercise routines. My philosophy of care is to partner with you to help you be as healthy as possible. Therefore, I see my role as a physician who can serve as an educator, guide and life coach to help motivate you to live a healthier and more balanced life. Sometimes this may involve treating you for an acute infection and other times it may involve working together to find the best way to control your chronic disease such as diabetes or hypertension. Whatever the scenario, I believe it is important for us to maintain an open dialogue so that I can identify the problem and work with you to find the best solution.
Above all, it is my goal to model good health so that I can practice what I preach to my patients, it is a process with continuous challenges that I look forward to sharing with you as we learn how to be healthy together over time.
